STATEMENT OF WITNESS
Airplane No. 42-32010 was hit in No. 2 Engine at 1108 immediately
after bombs away and caught fire. The fire grew more intense flaming up
to the top of the bomb bay. The olane flew steadily on: losing altitude
slightly while the chutes were being counted by our men. Nine chutes were
seen to open, the ball turret man was the first one out according to our
crew. He opened his door and fell out, apparently having his chute in the

STATEMENT OF WITNESS
The first. I noticed of Airplane 42-32010 fire came out of # 2 Turbo.
I saw no hit near the ship.
The fire grew until it was streaming back of the trailing edge of the
wing. The Airplane # 42-32010 went down out of my sight still unds control.
My men sar 10 chutes, with one delayed jump. The ship flew about 5 minutes
before it blew up.
It cought fire a few minutes after bombs away - 2 to 4 minutes.

STATEMENT OF WITNESS
Airplane # 42-32010 was hit by flak over the target area. There was a
fire in the number 2 tank up as far as the radio room, then the number 4
engine went out. Airplane 42-32010 first seen at six o'clock, 1000 feet
below us. I then saw one chute come out of plane, second, a pause, a third,
fourth, fifth. The ball turret gunner bailed cut next and it was a delayed
jump. I then saw a seventh, eighth went out, another pause, and then nint's
went out, The tenth one, the pilot just got out before it blew up about
5000 feet from the ground. All chutes were seen to open up.
