had Sustarned back injur los and his face showed signs of
disfigurement ( either from a bad parachute landing or from
a benting from unknown persons)

We all
had returned home sare with the rest of us
it was quite a shock to learn otherwise. Was he reported
a.s an official prisoner through the International Red
Cross? It seems definite that he arrived alive into
Enemy hands. In the normal course of a prisonors lifo
he should be home a nd alive.
