Pilot was still in his position when I made my jump. He had on
his parachute. Plane crashed into the side of a mountain and burst
into flames. (Position 1830 E 4340 N.) The pilots chute or body
were never found.

Co-pilot said the pilot was getting out of his seat when the
co-pilot left the plane

wing; flying its position. From IP to target very heavy and
acourato flak. Rallied ande sharp left evasive turn.

wing tanica for leaks, fir broke out in left wing, I started
to get out of ball turrot, but wia told to chock on fires.
I did 80 and closed door; wing sti 11 bur Crew instruoted
to propare to bail. Radio Oporator and I thought we heard
final signal and hailed out. We wore followed by right Waist
Funner. Tail Gunner ollowed despite some trouble in extract-
ing himsolf. Ship wert on burning out of sight. leard explo-
sione We four came down aafely with exception of injury to
Innoo of redio operator, and were captured almost inmediately
by Alp the aroops.
